Aikman: 'A Lot At Stake' For Bears

The Bears will be in the playoffs, this much we know. But, their exact seeding is still up in the air, and could see significant change over the course of the NFL's final week.

Although a lot can change and nothing is guaranteed in the playoffs, the Bears are in a position where they could potentially play the, defending Super Bowl champion, New Orleans Saints in the second round or the Green Bay Packers, in the first round.

"I think you want the bye, if you can get it," Troy Aikman said on the Mully and Hanley Show when talking about possible playoffs scenarios. "And I think that's what's pretty interesting. This time of year, you just get kind of worn out trying to sort through [all of the potential playoff scenarios and matchups]."

The Bears have held their destiny in their own hands for quite some time now. While things could change over the last few days of games, the Bears can put themselves in the best position by just simply winning.

"It looks like the Bears could potentially go from a one-seed, depending on what happens with Atlanta, to maybe a three-seed," Aikman said. "So there's certainly a lot at stake and I would much rather, regardless of who I was playing and how it unfolded, have a first round bye then have to play in the wild card round."
