CHICAGO (CBS) — In the wake of the shooting that killed six people and wounded a Congresswoman in Arizona, U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) says he is dealing with a threat of his own.

“A person e-mailed one of my staff persons and said that ‘Danny Davis is next,’ and so we’ve notified the authorities,” Davis said.

Davis said in this climate, it is better not to take chances.

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) was critically wounded, and six people were killed, the Saturday incident in Tucson, Ariz., during a “Congress on Your Corner” event in a grocery store parking lot.

Jared Loughner, 22, has been charged in the shooting.
