Woman Shot In Face, Seriously Wounded

CHICAGO (STMW) – A 43-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was shot in the face in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood late Friday, police said.

The shooting happened about 10:33 p.m. on the 9100 block of South Harper Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.

The victim, a 43-year-old woman, was shot in the face, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. Initially police said she was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, but according to an updated report she was listed in serious condition, Mirabelli said.

Detectives were talking to a person of interest in the shooting Saturday morning, Mirabelli said.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating.

    We see these types of stories every day here in Chicago…..shooting and more shootings. There is one thing they all have in common….they never have a suspect in custody.

    Business as usual in the African American Community. For every murder committed by whites, 100 are committed by blacks. Thats even when you take into concideration the recent shooting by the mentally ill man in Az. If you added uup all the mass murders committed by white men in the last 25 years, the total does not add up to the number of murders in the City of Chicago in 6 months. Doubt me? check the numbers. Civilized americans are in danger of losing their right to own guns as a result.
