Woman Shot In Face, Seriously Wounded
CHICAGO (STMW) - A 43-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was shot in the face in the South Side Calumet Heights neighborhood late Friday, police said.
The shooting happened about 10:33 p.m. on the 9100 block of South Harper Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines.
The victim, a 43-year-old woman, was shot in the face, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. Initially police said she was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, but according to an updated report she was listed in serious condition, Mirabelli said.
Detectives were talking to a person of interest in the shooting Saturday morning, Mirabelli said.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
