Brokers, Buyers Dance Over Bears-Packers Tickets

CHICAGO (WBBM) — The kickoff for the NFC Championship Game between the Bears and the Green Bay Packers is just four days away, but beforehand, there will be a little dancing.

As WBBM Newsradio 780’s Bernie Tafoya reports, it’s the dance of the ticket marketplace. Ticket brokers are trying to cash in, listing prices from $450 up to $15,000, while ticket buyers are trying to find the best bargain.

On Craigslist, one fan wants great seats for a good price.

Other fans are mostly trying to get tickets for about $250 each. One Packers fan from central Wisconsin said that wasn’t an easy task.

“I tried going on Ticketmaster yesterday and they were all sold out within the first few seconds, so my chances are probably not too good, but you never know,” she said.

Invariably, Bears fans looking for tickets on Craigslist closed their request with “Go Bears!”

It’s insane the prices these creeps are trying to charge. All that will happen is that the real Bear fans will be left outside of the stadium on game day. That can truly affect our home field advantage. Our team needs us in there, not corporate buyers that will attend simply because it is the popular thing to do. Hey Bear fans, scaling is still illegal so go on Craigslist and flag all of the ads trying to sell tickets at an outrageous price!
