Jack FM's Give It A Shot To Open For Bon Jovi Contest
CHICAGO -- BON JOVI, AEG LIVE and 104.3 JACK FM are joining forces to find the most talented, local and unsigned band (or solo artist) living within approximately 100 miles of Chicago, with "JACK FM's: GIVE IT A SHOT TO OPEN FOR BON JOVI" contest.
One lucky band will open for Bon Jovi LIVE at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011.
Artist submissions will be accepted at the 104.3 JACK FM website, WWW.IKNOWJACK.COM, from Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 to Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011. To enter, all members of the band must be 21 years of age or older and the artist must be able to perform a thirty minute set of all original music.
Band(s) must be based within the following counties of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan to participate.
Illinois: Cook, DuPage, Will, McHenry, Lake, Kane, Kendall, Grundy, Will, Kankakee, Boone, Winnebago, Ogle, Lee, LaSalle, Livingston
Indiana: Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Newton, Jasper, Starke, Pulaski, Benton, White, Cass, Carroll, Marshall, Fulton, Elkhart
Wisconsin: Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Dane, Rock, Walworth
Michigan: Berrien, Cass
Additionally, band(s) or solo artists must submit the following information:
• Two (2) original songs, written and recorded by the artist or used and recorded by the artist with written permission
• Band biography and background info on the band
• Band photo and/or logo
• Band contact information (lead person's full name, address, two working phone numbers (i.e. cell, home, work), e-mail address)
• Submit location(s) and reference(s) of at least one previous performance (if applicable)
After the entry period has passed, 104.3 JACK FM will select 24 bands that will face off in one round of online voting, from Friday, February 4th, 2011 to Monday, February 14th, 2011 where bands, fans and everyone else can narrow the competition down to the top 12 artists.
The top 12 bands will be assigned to select on-site "battles" taking place on Friday, February 18th and Saturday, February 19th at the Venue at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana and on Saturday, February 25th at the Tilted Kilt in Elgin, Illinois. The winning band from each competition will battle head-to-head for the final competition on Saturday, February 26th, 2011. The final winner will perform the opening act set for Bon Jovi LIVE at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011.
Interested band(s) and solo artists are encouraged to submit their entries today at WWW.IKNOWJACK.COM. Entries must be received no later than Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 at 10AM CT.
Tickets for the Bon Jovi concert on both Tuesday, March 8th and Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 are on-sale now at www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, the United Center box office and charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
