HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (CBS) — A man and a woman were killed in a fiery crash when their cars collided Thursday night in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates.

Police responded at 7:37 p.m. Thursday to two-vehicle crash on Golf Road between Bartlett Road and Route 59 (Sutton Road) in Hoffman Estates, police said.

Migdala Block, 62, of 1760 Robin Ln. in Hoffman Estates, was dead on the scene. Joseph Paliokaitis, 32, of an unknown address, was pronounced dead at 8:11 p.m. at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Autopsies performed Friday determined Block and Paliokaitis died of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle collision, according to the medical examiner’s office. Both deaths were ruled accidents.

Paliokaitis was the driver of one of the vehicles, while Block was the driver of the other vehicle, sources said. Unconfirmed dispatch reports indicate Block’s vehicle burst into flames shortly after the collision.
