UPDATED 01/28/11 4:01 p.m.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have taken a woman into custody, after a man was stabbed in the back and died on the city's South Side.

The stabbing happened around 1:40 a.m. Friday in an apartment in the 400 block of East 44th Street, police News Officer Amina Greer said.

The man was stabbed in the back and transported to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later found to be unresponsive, Greer said.

The man, Harry Ousley Jr., 54, who lived on the block where he was stabbed, was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office at the man stabbed.

Early Friday, police said a female suspect was in custody, but News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said at 3:30 p.m. that no one is in custody.

The attack may be domestic-related, Greer said.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
