CHICAGO (WBBM) — A new investigation has found yet another way that Illinois taxpayers are being cheated.

The paper reports the workers’ comp cases, many involving wrist or elbow issues, are often resolved without surgery, treatment or even a lawyer.
The chairman of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission says uncontested claims will no longer be approved until they are assigned a case number and logged into the agency’s database to allow public review.
