William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister, Julia, is charged with the murders. It was an emotional Hudson who appeared on Oprah. She was asked if she feels somewhat healed.
"I don't know if it is even started yet," she said. "It's a shocking thing."
All she can do now, Hudson said, is honor the memory of her family members and make them proud.
Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and the singer's brother, Jason Hudson, were found dead in October, 2008, inside their home on the South Side.
Julia Hudson's 7-year-old son, Julian King, was found dead three days later in the back of Jason Hudson's car.
All three were shot to death.
