Body Of Man Found Dead In Rogers Park Home Still Frozen

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Nearly a day and a half after a man was found dead in his frigid Rogers Park home, his body remained frozen and an autopsy could not yet be performed.

Rowland Draper, 60, was found frozen in his home at 2012 W. Birchwood Ave. early Tuesday and was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The residence had no electricity or heat when Draper was found, according to the medical examiner's office.

An autopsy to determine whether the cold played a role in his death was first scheduled for later Tuesday, then Wednesday. But his body was still frozen and an autopsy wasn't possible, according to the medical examiner's office.

At least 12 deaths in Cook County this winter have been attributed to the cold, according to the medical examiner's office.
