Report: Duerson's Death Ruled A Suicide
Former Chicago Bear Dave Duerson was found dead in his condo Thursday night. According to the Chicago Tribune, Duerson's death was ruled a suicide by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner.
The medical examiner said Duerson died from a self inflicted gunshot. The Miami-Dade police department hasn't made the suicide ruling public yet, however.
According to NBC 5, Duerson had sent a text message to his loved ones before his death stating he wished his brain donated to the NFL for research. He wished to help studies on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative disease common to boxers, football players and others who experience multiple concussions and head injuries.
