Johnson: Bulls Don’t Need To Make Trade

With the NBA’s trade deadline quickly approaching, the Chicago Bulls have been connected to several rumors involving players like Courtney Lee and O.J. Mayo.

As big a question as who the Bulls could target in a trade is whether or not they need to make a move at all.

“No, I don’t think they do,” K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. “[They] obviously made a minor move yesterday and it possibly could be a precursor to another move…It’s kind of a cliche in this day and age of sports, but I do think you need to recognize a little bit about what’s going on this season. I think they’re overachieving. I think there’s a lot of strong chemistry on this team and unless you can make a significant upgrade I think you stand pat.”

Sounds like Johnson is talking out both sides of his mouth. The chemistry needs to be protected, so you don’t want to make a move … unless it’s a significant upgrade. Well, wouldn’t a significant “upgrade” shake the chemistry with an added key piece? Will this significant upgrade just sit on the sidelines? Get real, Johnson; we need a legit #2 guard.

I could not agree with you more…..Even Kobe said the Chicago Bulls are a good 2 guard away from being Championship contenders. Think about it with the addition of a Mayo, Hamilton, or Jackson… The Bulls would be completed team in just like Boston. Boston is above the pack because they are completed. They have a point, a good shooting guard, and they front line is completed. Now where the Bulls would kill Boston at is, our Bench is 10 times better. So lets go for the ring now. Make the trade.. Just like Rose said why not him, Well Im saying why not the Bulls as Champions if they pull this trade!!!

KC Johnson is a pessimist. Every prediction he makes about the Bulls season is WRONG! He doesn’t know anything about this team…shame because he’s a beat writer. The Bulls should not stand pat. They obviously need another scoring threat/playmaker to take pressure off of Rose. Unless he wants to see teams double/trap Derrick during the playoffs then he should be advocating for a trade. SMH at KC once again.

lets leave things as they are at this point and see what this team is made of, i think they have some very talented role players off the bench and im excited to see this team in the playoffs and its been awhile since we could really get excited around here abvout a basketball game.
