On Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls traded former first-round pick James Johnson to the Toronto Raptors for the Miami Heat’s 2011 first-round pick. Well according to a report that pick could be flipped for Courtney Lee.

Adrian Wojnarowski, of Yahoo Sports, is reporting that the Bulls have offered the to the Houston Rockets for Lee, a shooting guard.

A sticking point in the trade, according to Wojnarowski, is that the Rockets want center Omer Asik instead of the draft pick.

Lee is averaging 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1 assist per game for the Rockets, while shooting 42.5 percent from three-point range.

If a deal is to be reached between the two teams it will have to come before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.

Bulls offer pick; Rockets want Asik. Sounds like more than a “sticking point”. If the Bulls can flip the pick for Lee, then the trade was Johnson for Lee and that is quite a steal. I doubt Houston takes it.

I’ll take Lee or Afflalo at this point as the marginal upgrade at SG. Either one fits the need of a tall shooting guard who can hit the 3 and guard decently. But wouldn’t trade any of our bigs to get him.

Bulls will probably play it conservately and not over pay (offer 2 1st round picks) because they can expect some guys to be bought out of their contracts come March 1st (Hamilton/Butler etc).

Ok Garpax , don’t mess this up

I thought Lee’s numbers were better than that. Is he really that much of an upgrade?

    meh.

I guess for Miami’s first round pick- which will be high 20s at worse, you could do worse.

      I agree

    Sup Ralph T.

Omer stays right here. He has a huge upside. Very agile for a young big man. He might not be getting a lot of minutes – but he’s learning the NBA game and improving all the time. Please don’t give the big guy away.
