Mock Draft Has Bears Taking SEC Tackle In Round One

The NFL Combine is wrapping up Tuesday, and as the April draft approaches we’ll slowly get a clearer picture of what the Bears might do. One published mock draft as them going with an offensive tackle from the SEC.

While it seems to be a deep draft in terms of tackles, some of the elite prospects like Tyron Smith, Nate Solder, Anthony Castonzo and Gabe Carimi might not be available when the Bears pick at No. 29.

Here’s a look at the most recent Bleacher Report mock draft for the Bears.

Round 1, Pick 29: Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State
Round 2, Pick 30 (Overall Pick 62): Marcus Cannon, OG, TCU
Round 3, Pick 29 (Overall Pick 93): Quan Sturdivant, LB, North Carolina
Round 4, Pick 30 (Overall Pick 126): Greg Romeus, DE, Pitt
Round 5, Pick 29 (Overall Pick 157): Justin Boren, OG, Ohio State
Round 6, Pick 30 (Overall Pick 190): Cedric Thornton, DT, Southern Arkansas

Bad idea IMO. If you read this kids scouting reports without reading the name, you would think that you’re reading about Chris Williams. The Bears do need an OT but they DONT need Chris Williams again.

i like that the bleacher report is having Chicago get some O-line because god knows we need it. But the linebacker pick is questionable to me. I do wish we get another LB but i dont think the position demands that depth as much as our secondary particularly safety (now that Manning might be looking elsewhere) and corner (we dont have a true number one corner). also i wish a wideout was up on that board as well.

This would be Crazy good, if it was realistic…I like the picks!!!
