ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (STMW) - Two men tied up a clerk while robbing a music store in southwest suburban Romeoville on Thursday.

Assistant Chief Steve Lucchesi said it was around 10 a.m. when the bandits entered a music store in the 300 block of North Independence Boulevard.

“One of them showed a handgun, jumped over the counter and demanded money,” Lucchesi said. The pair then took the clerk, a woman in her early 40s, into a back office and tied her to a chair.

“She was able to free herself after about 40 minutes and called police,” Lucchesi said. The victim was not injured.

“They took $16,000, a cell phone and some of the clerk’s jewelry,” Lucchesi said.

The suspects are described as Hispanic men in their early 20s.

One of them is 5-foot-5 and wore a black hooded sweat shirt. The other is 5-foot-7 and wore a gray hooded sweat shirt.

Anyone with information can call police at 815-886-7219 or anonymously call Will County Crimestoppers at 800-323-6734.
