The Chicago Bears took out a full page advertisement in the Wednesday’s Chicago Tribune to urge fans to be patient with the current labor situation and assure them of where the team’s focus rests.
“Despite the current labor situation, we’re pushing forward,” the ad says. “Doing everything we can to continue to improve. Keeping ours heads in the game. We all want football. And when it’s back, we’ll be ready. Hitting the field with one goal in mind–winning a Super Bowl for Chicago.”
With the NFL players’ union decertifying and the owners locking out the players, the future of the league remains uncertain. While there is an optimism that a deal will be reached before the season starts, coaches are currently not allowed to talk with their players or hold practices.
