Blackhawks Recall Ben Smith From Rockford
On Sunday, the Chicago Blackhawks recalled forward Ben Smith from the Rockford IceHogs, the team's American Hockey League affiliate.
The 22-year old Avon, Connecticut, native ranks third on the IceHogs with 15 goals and a team-high two shorthanded goals.
Smith was the Blackhawks' fifth pick (169th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He led the 2010 Boston College Eagles to a National Championship and earned the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award along the way.
