CHICAGO (STMW) – A bloody man was found walking in the Loop early Saturday morning after being beaten and sodomized with a tree branch, according to police.

Shortly after midnight Saturday, someone saw the undressed man walking with a bloody face in the 800 block of South Michigan Avenue and called authorities, according to Central District Police Lt. Richard Guerrero.

The victim had severe trauma to his face and when paramedics got to the scene, they recognized him as a homeless man. He was not wearing shoes or pants, and had only one sock on.

The victim had apparently been attacked and then sodomized with a tree branch, and doctors at Northwestern Memorial Hospital had to remove part of the branch, which was lodged in the victim’s rectum, according to the lieutenant. While his condition was not immediately known, he is expected to survive.

The victim is a white male in his 50s or older, according to the lieutenant.

No one had been arrested as of early Saturday afternoon.

Belmont Area detectives are investigating.

Don’t know, wait and see. If it’s black kids it will be a big story due to the hate crime thing, if it’s white suburban punks it will be gigantic. Either way, they’ll catch them. Idiots don’t bother to realize they are on camera everywhere.

The above comments are asinine. This is not funny even though some here apparently take advantage of situations such as these to make jokes. They are no better than the perpetrators who took advantage of the homeless man and did what they did. I doubt it would seem quite as funny to you if YOU had been the victim, or one of your friends or relatives. Those who make ridiculous and off-handed remarks, apparently in an attempt to make the rest of us guffaw, keep your day jobs or try an pay more attention in school lest you end up flipping burgers and dong your schtick in a friend’s garage.

This isn’t homeless man! It’s somebody who I new very well, the police identified him taking finger prints! Right now he is in the at the hospital and not sure if he is going to survive. I just hope police finds the psiho who is responsible ror this!

This is my grandfather’s brother that this happened to. He is actually in his 60s and a genocide survivor from Bosnia. He had just stepped out for a smoke when this happened. God have mercy on us all.

more and more its becoming more of a sick world ,is it because kids are being immune to whats right and wrong ,no moral code ,if they were caught id like to see the punishment fit the crime ,its too soft on people who commit these sick acts!
