It Starts With Konerko On South Side

The Chicago White Sox have high expectations coming in to the 2011 season, that's what happens when the front office has an aggressive offseason.

But some things never change, and White Sox will once again rely on one player to set the tone for the season.

"To me, it's [Paul] Konerko," Joe Cowley, of the Chicago Sun-Times, said on the Danny Mac Show. "He's the captain, he's the heartbeat of the team. I think he's a lot more vocal leader than people realize, he just pulls guys aside and does it privately.

"I think the fact that he's come back twice for less money shows a lot, shows his love for the organization, shows his admiration for Ozzie Guillen as a manager and for Ken Williams as a G.M. He's the face [of the organization], he's the heartbeat. I think it definitely starts with P.K. in the South Side."
