Report: Silva Signs Deal With Yankees

The Chicago Cubs bit the bullet and let Carlos Silva go just a couple of weeks ago, now reports are out that the Yankees want the former Cubs pitcher.

SI.com's Jon Heyman tweeted that the New York Yankees have signed Carlos Silva and the New York Post's Joel Sherman confirmed Silva was signed to a minor league deal.

Due to his poor performance, posting 10.90 ERA over 17 1/3 innings, Silva was offered a minor league deal with the Cubs after spring training this year. Last season, the 31 year old posted a 4.22 ERA and an 80/24 K/BB ratio over 21 starts. Silva was cut from the team when he refused the minor league deal.
