Schuster: Sox Bounce Back

By David Schuster--

Alexei Ramirez smokes cigars anyway but after hitting a pair of home runs including the game winner the one he lit up was a victory cigar. The two home runs by the Cuban born shortstop was the first time he has hit more then one in a game in the majors. It also was his first walk off game winning shot.

The victory went to Chris Sale in relief and did you see him get his final out on a 3 and 2 change up. A.J. Perzynski called the pitch and Sale said he will never shake off A.J.

Edwin Jackson started the game and just couldn't get his secondary pitches over. He had command of his fastball but his normally reliable slider and sinker were erratic on this night.

The win followed Monday's ugly come from ahead loss in which Matt Thornton blew the save while Juan Pierre dropped a ball in left. All the conversation before Tuesday's game was rehashing Monday's defeat but as soon as Ramirez hit his game winner, Monday's loss was permanently put away.
