CHICAGO (STMW) – The state is investigating the father of an infant found dead Tuesday at his South Side home.
Jovontae Reed, 1 month, of the 9000 block of S. Union Ave., was found dead at his home, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating an allegation of neglect against the boy’s father, DCFS spokesman Kendall Marlowe said.
DCFS has not previously investigated the family, and there are no other children in the household, Marlowe said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, the medical examiner’s office said.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
