CHICAGO (WBBM) – Lady Luck is going to smile on a thousand eager job-seekers hoping to fill the 1,000 openings at a new suburban gambling mecca.
Construction’s still underway on the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, but the owners are getting their staff together before the scheduled opening in July.
Nearly 8,000 applicants turned out at a job fair last month, and some have made the cut. They’re being trained to become dealers at $20-an-hour plus tips. They will be the highest-paid employees on the casino floor.
