Police Need Help Finding Elderly Man With Alzheimers

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 94-year-old Southeast Side man with Alzheimers disease has been missing since Monday after leaving a Loop bank, police said.

William Wheatley lives in the 8000 block of South Dorchestser and was last seen leaving a bank in the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue after taking money out, according to a missing persons alert issued by Calumet Area Special Victims Unit detectives.

Wheatley suffers from Alzheimers and is hearing impaired. He has only one hearing aid with him, and the battery is dead, the alert said.

Wheatley is 5-foot-4 and 140 pounds, black with a light complexion, brown eyes and gray hair with a small ponytail, the alert said. His upper back and neck are hunched.
