Bulls-Heat Series Received Big Ratings

NEW YORK (AP) –– The Miami Heat won the series and plenty of TV viewers in the Eastern Conference finals.

The five-game series between the Heat and Chicago Bulls averaged 10.4 million viewers on TNT. That’s up 46 percent from last year’s Celtics-Magic matchup in the East, and up 33 percent from Lakers-Suns on TNT in 2010.

The Western Conference finals, with Dallas beating Oklahoma City, weren’t the same draw. The five games on ESPN averaged 6.9 million viewers.

I don’t envy you guys at The Score now that there’s a giant dead spot until the Bears start playing again, whenever that will be. And then if the Bulls don’t start on time next season, yikes! Better hunker down and get ready for bad, bad ratings. We”l find out which of you guys can handle the bad times the best, I suppose.
