Two Charged In Cocaine Deal

OAK LAWN, Ill. (STMW) - Two Chicago men face drug charges after Oak Lawn police interrupted a drug deal May 16 in a mobile home park at 90th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

Harvey F. Adams, 26, and Andrew M. Long were arrested after police saw them selling crack cocaine out of a van, according to police.

They said a patrol officer saw the Chevrolet Astro van enter the park and recognized it as a van suspected of being involved in drug dealing in the village.

After observing the cocaine sale, the officer stopped the van as it left the park, but Adams put the van into reverse and slammed into the squad car, police said. Other officers arrived, and Adams and Long were arrested.

Police said they found small amounts of cocaine and marijuana in the van.

Adams was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana, driving on a suspended license, no insurance, damage to village property and improper backing,
police said, and Long was charged with possession of marijuana.
