The Great Debate: When Should The White Sox Sit Dunn?

CHICAGO (WSCR) Adam Dunn was a big offseason signing for the Chicago White Sox. The slugger was expected to contribute to a powerful offense, but so far he's struggled to find any consistency.

So the question becomes: when does Ozzie Guillen sit Adam Dunn?

"That's a great question," Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "I mean, you don't want to lose the player, obviously, but you don't want to keep losing games. I think that's a fascinating call for a manager, especially a veteran who's got a track record and is an All-Star type of player. That's not an easy call to make. It's easy for us to sit here and say 'if you're hitting .180, you don't deserve to be in the lineup.'

"But it's a tough tough call with a veteran player. I think, obviously, against left-handers, you know, Ozzie has picked some spots and given him days. There may have to be some more, you know, if he doesn't hit left-handers at all. But that's a tough call for Ozzie. You don't to lose the player, but you don't want to lose the games."
