Man Accused Of Holding Woman Hostage, Forcing Her Into Prostitution

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 36-year-old man has been charged with holding a Crystal Lake woman against her will and forcing her into prostitution.

Chicago police said Chester Nelson, of 1700 W. Albion Av., has been charged with involuntary servitude.

Nelson allegedly held a 20-year-old woman from Crystal Lake against her will from June 6 to June 10. He took her to hotel rooms, where he forced her to perform acts of prostitution over her protests.

Police said Nelson threatened the woman to get her compliance.

According to the victim's father, she has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old.

The woman had come to Chicago to visit a friend, but a person who picked her up took her to meet Nelson.

The woman was able to get away and flag down a police officer, who listened to the story of her ordeal. Nelson was arrested in the 5400 block of West West End Avenue.
