CHICAGO (CBS) The Philadelphia Flyers will host the New York Rangers at Citizens Bank Park in the 2012 Winter Classic, according to the New York Times.

The game will be played on Jan. 2, 2012 and will be the fifth Winter Classic. Usually the game is played on New Year’s Day, but January 1 falls on a Sunday this year and is the last scheduled day of regular season NFL games.

It will be the first time the Rangers have played in the Winter Classic. The Flyers were the road team against the Boston Bruins in the 2010 Winter Classic.
