Konerko Among Finalists For Last All-Star Spot; Fans Can Vote Him In

(WSCR) Chicago White Sox baseman first Paul Konerko ranks in the top five in the American League for batting average (fifth: .319), home runs (fourth: 21) and RBI (fourth: 62), but he wasn't initially selected to the AL All-Star roster. However, fans can get Konerko there by using their vote(s).

Major League Baseball is letting fans vote for the final roster spot for both the AL and NL rosters for the July 12 All-Star game in Phoenix.

White Sox fans can vote for Konerko as many times as they want by clicking here.

Other players vying for the final AL sport are: Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon, Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, Detroit Tigers DH Victor Martinez and Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Ben Zobrist.

For the National League, the final roster spot will be filled by one of the following players: Andre Ethier, of the Los Angeles Dodgers; Todd Helton, of the Colorado Rockies; Ian Kennedy, of the Arizona Diamondbacks; Michael Morse, of the Washington Nationals; or Shane Victorino, of the Philadelphia Phillies.
