FBI Seeks Help After Munster Bank Robbery

MUNSTER, Ind. (CBS) -- Authorities have released surveillance photographs of a man who robbed a bank in a heavily traveled area of Munster.

A while male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, walked into the 5/3 Bank at Calumet Avenue and Broadmoor around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. He waited at the counter and then approached a teller, brandished a black handgun and demanded cash.

He was given dye packs and it appears the dye did explode, according to a release from the FBI.

The suspect, who is about 6 feet tall with gray hair and a dark goatee, was also wearing a Cubs baseball hat and checkered shirt. He fled the scene in a black or dark color Honda or Hyundai, four-door vehicle.

Witnesses saw what may have been a license plate with a partial tag of A194611.

That bank branch is located at a busy intersection near several strip malls and fast-food restaurants.
