Danks Activated From D.L.; Pena Sent On Rehab Assignment

(CBS) As expected, the White Sox activated John Danks from the 15-day disabled list in advance of his start tonight in Kansas City.

Danks has been on the disabled list since June 26 after suffering a strained oblique the day before.

The White Sox also announced they are sending reliever Tony Pena to Charlotte on a second rehab assignment. Pena has been battling right elbow tendinitis and has been on the disabled list since May 29.

Reliever Hector Santiago was optioned to Charlotte after Tuesday’s game to make room for Danks on the big league roster.
