Report: Bears Looking To Replace Punter Maynard

CHICAGO (CBS) – The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Chicago Bears are parting ways with punter Brad Maynard, declining to sign the free agent to a new deal.

The Tribune cited a source close to the player in reporting that the Bears are looking for younger talent than veteran Maynard, 37, in his position. He has been with the Bears for 10 seasons.

SAVE MAYNARD – who else can pin the other team on the 2 in a cross wind – big mistake Bears Front Office – younger is not better. Experience wins.

P.S. Who is going to hold the point after balls and field goals for Robbie….

I remember a few, flat out, whiffs last season. Starting from the 47 and punting into the endzone. Some 22 yarders.
But, the guy can still kick; last year seemed like a bad year.

Let’s face it, the Bears need an excellent punter. Lest we forget, Gardocki played forever, and it took a long time to replace him.
    With Maynard
    Sauerbraun: yeesh!

Face it – everyone has an off year – Cutler, Urlacher, etc – it’s not like there are good punters just hanging out waiting to be picked up – da Bears are going to have to break in a new-bie punter…

    Save Maynard…
