About 4 p.m., Barnes put his golf bag in the trunk of his rental car and locked it. When he returned about 25 minutes later, the golf bag and several other items were missing.
Inside the bag were 14 clubs, valued at $3,500, his wallet, and a Chrome Breitling Bentley watch worth about $8,000.
Cook County Sheriff’s detectives canvassed the area, conducted interviews and are reviewing video surveillance. Barnes’ name is clearly marked on the golf bag, according to published reports.
An immediate alert was sent to law enforcement agencies across the area to watch for the stolen items. Anyone with information should call sheriff’s detectives at (708) 865-4896.
