One Held After Police Fire Shots At Shooting Suspect

CHICAGO (STMW) - Authorities have arrested a suspect who prompted a police shooting on the Southwest Side Saturday morning in the Marquette Park neighborhood.

At 11:06 a.m. Chicago Police tactical officers saw a suspect who was shooting at a vehicle in the 6600 block of South Campbell Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak. The officers fired shots but no one was struck, according to Kubiak.

But at 11:27 a.m. in the 6500 block of South Campbell, the suspect was arrested, said Kubiak. No injuries were reported, she said.

A police source said shots were also fired at police and the incident reportedly occurred in the same block where police fired shots on Friday.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
