Dez Clark Re-Signs With Bears

(CBS) The Bears officially announced they had re-signed veteran tight end Desmond Clark to a one-year deal Tuesday afternoon.

Clark’s time with the Bears appeared to be over, but in the last week, the team traded Greg Olsen and released Brandon Manumaleuna, creating space for Clark on the roster.

Clark has been with the Bears since 2003 and ranks ninth in franchise history with 242 receptions.

YAY for better tight ends than Greg Olsen! Nothing against Greg personally, but as a football player, at HIS position, he needed to work harder to be better at things other than catching the ball….which he also sucked at. Too many drops. Dez is a good receiver and blocker.

I think this was part of a plan. Makes sense to me.

Agreed. I always though Dez was a more well rounded TE than Olsen was.

Greg was a 255lb wide receiver, Dez is a true tight end and I’m glad he is returning.

Dez was the best all around tight end last year and didn’t even dress for a lot of it. Saw him make some great catches and bowled defenders over afterwards. Something not done at all by the othe TEs. Also a very good blocker. I’m glad he’s back.
