CHICAGO (CBS) — Two Chicago Police officers are in the hospital Thursday morning, after a crash on busy Stony Island Avenue.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. on Stony Island Avenue at 71st Street, police said.

The officers’ squad car struck a pole, and the impact was enough to set off the airbags.

The two officers inside the vehicle were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.

It is not known what the officers were doing or where they were headed at the time of the crash.

I believe the Starbucks on 71st and Stony Island close at 10:00 PM. So, who knows where they were headed.
