Missing Man's Body Pulled From Lake Near Fox Lake

FOX LAKE, Ill. (CBS) -- An autopsy is planned for a man whose body was pulled from a lake near Fox Lake over the weekend, after he was reported missing.

Emergency crews were called to Duck Lake about 3 p.m., after fishermen out in a boat spotted the 65-year-old man's body floating near Longwood Drive, Fox Lake Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Tom Preidis said.

The man appeared to have been in the water "a few days, at least," Preidis said.

The man was identified as Vladimir Taraday, according to Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey. Taraday, who was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, had been reported missing and endangered by Fox Lake police, Yancey said.

Taraday apparently drowned but an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death was expected to be performed later Monday or early Tuesday, Yancey said.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department is investigating, but was not immediately available for comment Monday morning.
