(CBS) The Washington Redskins released their first unofficial depth chart of the season Tuesday and former Bear Rex Grossman is listed as the team’s No. 1 quarterback, according to the Washington Post.

But the Post’s Redskins beat writer, Mike Jones, writes that the depth chart doesn’t mean a whole lot:

“Rex Grossman is listed as the first-string quarterback, and John Beck is his backup,” Jones writes. “It’s probably not worth reading a whole lot into that. The two both have an equal shot at the starting job. One of them has to be listed as the first-stringer on these depth charts.”

Beck has been battling a groin injury, which could explain why Grossman is listed No. 1.
