Superman Movie Set Takes Over Part Of Sugar Grove

SUGAR GROVE (CBS) -- The new Superman movie is filming in far west suburban Sugar Grove. If you go out there to watch, you're not likely to see anything-- the police are keeping spectators away.

Scenes for "Man of Steel" are being shot on Route 56 under the Route 47 overpass.

But the set is closed to the public, and the exact nature of the shoot isn't really clear.

"They haven't really let on what's being filmed over there," said village president Sean Michaels.

A jet engine was brought in, apparently to simulate a tornado.

There is no real direct economic benefit for the village, just bragging rights, Michaels said

"There's no revenue coming in for this movie," he said. "It is a proud moment for Sugar Grove."

There have been reports that Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe were spotted in town, but Michaels hasn't seen the stars for himself.
