CHICAGO (CBS) — Police are looking for a gunman who shot a man to death overnight on his own front porch in the Englewood neighborhood.

The man — identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as 53-year-old David Thomas — was shot about 7:25 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Ross Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.

Authorities said Thomas was on his front porch when he was shot multiple times.

It is not known if Thomas was the intended target.
