South Elgin Girl’s Body Recovered From Michigan Lake

CHICAGO (CBS) — The body of a 10-year-old girl from South Elgin on Thursday was recovered from a lake in southwestern Michigan.

Daniella Rose Vaca had been riding in a tube with two other children on Wednesday. It was being pulled by a boat driven by her mother.

Police say when her mother became distracted the boat made a sharp turn and ran right into the tube.

Two of the children survived. But Daniella drowned.
