GROBBER'S FRIDAY THOUGHTS AUG 26,2011
====================================
***Now what do the White Sox have left in the tank as Detroit blanked Tampa Bay 2-0 Thursday to take a 7 game lead on the Southsiders? I'm sure the Sox Players and Fans were counting on Tamp[a Bay to take three of four from Detroit at Tropicana Field,but it was the exact opposite.Cleveland remains 1/2 game ahead of the Sox as this weekend starts with the Sox in Seattle.The Tigers continue to build up a large error margin and shrink that of the Sox whom they still consider their biggest threat,more than Cleveland. But the Sox have not shown any sign of consistency all season,and the more they fall behind,the less chance they have to salvage what has been up to now a flop of a season.

***The Cubs get to face the only real good team from their Division when they play the Brewers at Miller Park this weekend. Their are usually tons of Cub Fans in Miller Park when they play there,but this season,the Brewers have a bigger home field advantage for obvious reasons. Many fed up Cub Fans are not making the 90 mile drive up I-94 and the Brewers have been more in demand.

***My choice for Cub General Manager is Ned Colletti who is currently holding that position with the financially strapped Dodgers. Ned began working for the Cubs in 1983,knows the ins and outs of the organization and can clean up the mess which Tom Ricketts and Company need done. Colletti is also a Chicago native. He has the experience that Ricketts wants. I am not a big fan of bringing in one of those new fangled 32 year olds that some teams have gone with.
