Police Seek Suspect Who Robbed Woman At South Side ATM

CHICAGO (CBS) — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a robbery suspect who held up a woman at an ATM inside a store in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The robber entered a store in the vicinity of 300 W. Garfield Blvd. on Aug. 17 at about 4 a.m. and, after a woman had completed her transaction at the ATM inside, he took her money by force, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The store’s surveillance camera caught the robber on video and detectives were asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect.

The robber is described as an African American man, 25 to 35 years old, standing 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and weighing 230 to 260 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans, black gym shoes and a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robber should call Wentworth Area Detectives at 312-747-8382.

Unbelievable! Another robbery by an Afro-American. These stories day after day, after day, after day, after day, after day are starting to grow old. What the sam hell is going on in the black community? They are out of control. The daily shootings and robberies, rapes, and beatings. The state of the young male negro in the city is truly pathetic! Will it EVER end? Lyndia? NWA?

From the looks of this guy, I’d start looking at the medical or law schools, because I’m sure his momma would say, “He’s a good boy.”

  • Leroy Goldberg

Wow, I am shocked. A crime comitted by a BLACK man? I wonder if it’s NWA, that would not surprise me at all.

    • NWA

You wish Leroy! But, my question to you is, why would I have robbed that woman when I pay yo momma to clean my house?

      • Leroy Goldberg

We all know what your mother does for free….over and over and over

  • Think Smart

Who goes to an ATM at 4 AM. Really??? Common sense people.

  • Just Axin

Some mf-er knows who he be and refuses to turn him in. Where are the activists now? A perfect opportunity to do some good.

  • Elroy Silverberg

    That’s NWA for sure.
