NBA Owners, Union Talk, To Meet Again Thursday

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBA owners and players have met for about 5 1/2 hours and plan to resume negotiations Thursday.

While neither side would say if progress is being made, the frequency of the discussions seems a good sign. Owners and players met only twice in the first two months of the lockout that began July 1.

Union head Billy Hunter thinks there is enough time to reach a collective bargaining agreement in time for this season's schedule to remain intact.
