Les Grobstein Show - 9/14/11 *UPDATE*

GROBBER---Sept 14,2011
===================
***Brian Urlacher left town Tuesday for what was called a "Family Emergency" involving his Mother.There is no word on when he'll be back,but the most important thing is that Brian is taking care of Family business.Anyone who is ONLY concerned about if Urlacher is back for the game,does not have his or her priorities in correct order.Lets hope for the best for Brian's Mom! The game will take care of itself Sunday.

***Big setback in the NBA negotiations as the Players Association and the NBA are still on different pages over the salary cap.The Owners want a hard cap and the NBAPA is not budging.The other day,Derrick Fisher tweeted the players,telling them to "be ready" which was interpreted as an optimistic tone.But that's not quite the case. Of course there are still three weeks left before the schedule start of Training Camps.

***After Justin Verlander blanked the White Sox Tuesday,Detroit's Magic Number to wrap up the A.L.Central is down to three. You got to just love Gordon Beckham's 'refuse to quit' attitude.He said the Sox are not out of it yet. Unfortunately, they HAVE been out of it for over a week and a half.

***This is going to be a very eventful off season for both the Sox and the Cubs.

***Northern Illinois hosts #7 Wisconsin at Soldier Field at 2:30pm Saturday.There remain plenty of tickets,with high prices being blamed for only about 30,000 sold as of Tuesday.
