Uptown Apartment Fire Sends Two To Hospital

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people were hospitalized early Tuesday after they were hurt in a fire at an Uptown high-rise building.

A still-and-box alarm and an EMS Plan I -- which automatically calls five ambulances to the scene -- was called sometime before 1:30 am.. for the blaze at 1020 W. Lawrence Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs.

The fire is out as of early Tuesday, according to Fire Media Affairs. Circumstances surrounding the blaze were not yet known.

Two people were taken in serious condition to Weiss Memorial Hospital.

A fire started on the fifth floor of an apartment building at that address.
