Traffic Crash Knocks Out Power To 1,500 In Skokie
SKOKIE, Ill. (CBS) -- A traffic crash took down two power poles in Skokie early Tuesday, leaving more than 1,500 power customers without electricity.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. at Hamlin Avenue and Harvard Terrace, and broke the two utility poles, ComEd spokeswoman Martha Swaney said.
More than 1,500 ComEd customers in Skokie were left without electricity, Swaney said. Crews hoped to have service restored later Tuesday, but the utility does not know exactly how long repairs will take, she said.
Skokie police could not immediately be reached for comment.
