Police: Man Dead After Rollover Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was killed early Saturday in a rollover crash in the South Side Gresham neighborhood, police said.

The accident happened about 2:17 at the intersection of Racine Avenue and 76th Street, after a 19-year-old “traveling at a high rate of speed” lost control of the vehicle he was driving and struck a light pole, police said. No other injuries were reported.

According to unconfirmed dispatch reports, the vehicle was split in half.

No further information was immediately available.

As of about 3:45 a.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office had not yet been notified of a fatality there.
