(CBS) Two days after cutting him, the Bears re-signed rookie safety Winston Venable to the practice squad.
The Bears released Venable to allow a roster spot for rookie safety Anthony Walters.
Venable has played special teams thus far for the Bears. He’s fourth on the team with five tackles, two behind team leader Corey Graham.
Venable is viewed as almost strictly a special teams player. Therefore, the move could be made with hopes of Walters getting a chance on defense.
